The person has folded forward, with their chest only a few inches above their ankles. The tail of the rope now travels over their right shoulder and exits at the top of the image.

A classic tie that’s great for endurance play.

Step by step

A person in a white bodysuit is sitting on the floor with their ankles crossed and their hands on their knees. A green rope is tied in a single column tie around the two ankles.

1With your partner sitting cross-legged, tie their ankles together with a column tie.

You may need to experiment with positioning to keep the ankles from grinding against each other.

We are now looking at the person’s chest from behind. A blue rope is tied around their chest in a single column tie, with the knot three inches to the left of their spine. The tail of the rope exits the knot and goes over their left shoulder.

2Tie a column tie around the chest just below the armpits. The knot should be a few inches to the left of the spine.

We are now looking at the person from the front. The blue rope from the single column comes over their left shoulder and goes diagonally down their chest in front of the single column. It goes down to the ankles and through the single column there, doubling back to make a vee shape. The person is holding the tail of the rope in their right hand.

3Pass the remaining rope from from the chest tie over the left shoulder. Bring it through the column tie around the ankles.

The person has folded forward, with their chest only a few inches above their ankles. The tail of the rope now travels over their right shoulder and exits at the top of the image.

4Pull carefully but firmly on the rope, pulling your partner’s chest down toward their ankles.

Experiment to find a position that is appropriately challenging.

We are again looking at the person’s back. The tail of the rope comes over their right shoulder and is tied to the single column around their chest with two half hitches. The knot is three inches to the right of their spine, making the back of the chest harness symmetrical.

5Go over the right shoulder and tie off to the right side of the chest tie. Experiment to find the best spacing for the shoulder lines.

The person’s hands have been tied together with blue rope in a bar tie which holds the wrists about six inches apart.

6Tie the hands together behind the back. Consider using a bar tie here for comfort.
